    Kids and Family Museums

    Yakima Air Terminal – McAllister Field (YKM) is hosting its 3rd Annual Aviation Day on June 6, 2026 from 9 am to 3 pm, a free, family-friendly event celebrating all things flight. The day will feature a variety of aircraft on display, along with booths showcasing the many exciting sides of the aviation industry. Explore airplanes and helicopters up close, enjoy food and activities, and share in the enthusiasm that fuels the aviation community. Aircraft will be displayed statically on the ramp, with great views of planes and helicopters moving along the runway and taxiways throughout the event. 

    This is a fun-filled day where kids can unleash their creativity and imagination. The Test Flight Zone will have activities like building balsa wood airplanes, straw copters, and paper airplanes. Watch them take off on our runway and aim for the target during flight testing! But that’s not all, there will be puzzles for toddlers, a coloring zone, an airplane ‘cakewalk’, airplane marshaling school, and a pre-flight experience with a pilot. It’s a comprehensive experience that your little ones won’t want to miss! Bring your kids along for a day of adventure and learning at the *New Kid Zone*.
